The Karolinska University Hospital

Unit:
Hospital management, all the division and clinic managements and some section managements totalling about 75 units.


Goal:
Improvement of strategic competence for management and control of the entire hospital. The project was headed by Cordicon AB, and the part played by Urvision so far comprises two division managements. 15 clinic managements and 17 separate vision assignments including a vision for the entire hospital.


Assignment:
To create professional management groups and improve strategic competence transformed into practical implementation in the organisation. Support organisational formulation. Improve strategic ability through visions integrated in operational planning.


Effective consultancy investment:
6 days, 3 days per organisation formulation and 4 days per vision formulation on average.


Time spent per organisation:
No particular time over and above the presence of the consultant. Included in normal line work.


Result:
Improved management competence, clearer goals and contributed to getting the hospital’s budget in balance.
